How to remove common stains at home

How often have you poured something on your dress and toiled to get the stain out? Even when you run it through water or hand wash it, the stain stays put because every stain is different and must be treated differently. Here are some effective ways to get common #stains out.

Stains from drinks like coffee, tea, alcohol, fruit juices and soft drinks: Soak the stain in cool water for 10 minutes and using either a bar of soap, liquid detergent or a paste made with washing powder and water, dab on the stain and rub. Before the paste dries, wash the dress with detergent in hot water.

Chocolates: Try to scrape off as much of it as you can with a blunt-edged knife. Soak in warm soapy water and if a brown stain is still visible, soak in a mix of water with sanitizer and rinse with warm water.

Cosmetics: Before you put the dress for wash, dab on the stain with either a prewash stain remover or a paste of washing powder with water.

Oil: Using a tissue, remove the excess oil. Wet the stain and apply liquid detergent directly on the stain and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash with hot water. Alternatively, try putting a paper on both sides of the stain and ironing over the paper.
